Kisumu Education & Environment Fund
Powering Africa's Potential
K.E.E.F.
in brief:

The Kisumu Education and Environment Fund (K.E.E.F.) is a U.S. 501(c)(3) organization that supports small-scale social development projects in Kisumu (Kenya's 3rd largest urban area) with a focus on primary education, sanitation, waste-management, and other environmental issues in the poorest slums that surround greater Kisumu City/County.
K.E.E.F.'s mission currently is centered around funding the operations of, and improvements to facilities at, Life Centre School, a primary school in the Obunga slums in northern Kisumu City. K.E.E.F.'s work in Kisumu begins here in the USA, developing a passionate and reliable small-donor base.
Alice and Pastor James Samo founded Life Centre about a decade ago with a mission to educate, feed, and support children from Kisumu's poorest slums.
Life Centre currently provides pre-k, primary and secondary education to nearly 300 children, who are primarily from the Obunga slums in Kisumu. Most of Life Centre's current students would not receive primary education without Life Centre, and pay little to no school fees to attend.
Alice and James, through Life Centre, have rescued many dozens of malnourished, abandoned and orphaned children, providing them with housing, nourishment, education and, most importantly, greater stability and love.
In October 2024, K.E.E.F. executed an agreement to purchase the land on which Life Centre School operates. Without the purchase, the land would have been sold to developers and the school would have closed.
K.E.E.F. is now working with Life Centre School to develop a long-term plan to upgrade the school's facilities and educational resources. To make tax-deductible contributions to this critically important initiative, please click on the Donate button. Thank you.
